Android Auto is finally coming to Toyota vehicles

The company just started supporting CarPlay this past January.

Ever since its inception in 2015, Android Auto has proven to be one of the safest and most intuitive interfaces for interacting with navigation, music, and notifications in the car. Google's already partnered with most major automobile brands, and after years of resistance from Toyota, the Japanese car brand is finally on board.

This news comes from a Bloomberg report, and while it isn't set in stone quite yet, it's expected that a final announcement will be made at some point in October (possibly at Google's October 9 Pixel 3 event).

Although Android Auto can technically be used in Toyota cars right now, it's done so through Ford's SmartDeviceLink feature that severely limits the features and UI.

Toyota previously started supporting Apple CarPlay in January, so a move like this only makes sense. Stay tuned!
