When it comes to sharing or reposting Instagram posts, it’s pretty old-school. The native app lacks the option to share pictures or images even if they belong to public profiles. Quite a bummer, right?
Well, the lack of it can certainly be seen as a boon or bane. For one, it lets anyone’s photos to stay original but then, it doesn’t let you share some amazing shots that your favorite photographer or food blog has shared.
Even the native app doesn’t support the feature, the good news is Instagram post can be easily re-posted or shared. And yeah, as is the drill with these workarounds, either we’ll have to borrow the feature from a third-party app or employ a little workaround within the phone.
Note:Before reposting Instagram posts and contents, be sure to reach out to the owner of the content for permission to repost.
1. Grab a Screenshot
The first method involves a little bit of workaround to get through the process of Instagram reposting. The advantage of this method is that you can apply your own filters and share.
All you have to do is grab a screenshot of the content and snip away the unnecessary part using either a third-party app or the phone’s built-in image editor. Do make sure that the original profile’s name and other details are visible.
Do make sure that the original profile’s name and other details are visible.
Having done that, you can share the picture just like you share other pictures and images. The drawback of this method is that you might lose the original picture quality.
2. Using Collections
They say that the key to a great business is keeping the bigger picture in mind. So, if you’d like to save an Instagram picture, that you can repost/share it later, you can do it easily using the built-in Collections feature.
Similar to the above method, head over to the picture and tap on the little bookmark icon on the right corner. This will save the image to your collections.
Once the appropriate time comes, follow the above drill and post it on Instagram, after giving the due credit.
3. Use a Third-Party Reposting App
The Google Play Store never fails to amaze when it comes to apps and the neat little tricks they can pull off. One such app is Repost for Instagram – Regrann. The app integrates with Instagram and lets you repost pictures and videos from within the app.
All it needs is a link to the Instagram post, which can be grabbed by tapping on the three-dot menu. Having done that, Regrann will automatically determine that you have copied a link and will give you the option for sharing it on Instagram.
Again, don’t miss out on crediting the actual owner.
Repost Already, Will You?
So, this was how you can share or repost pictures on Instagram. Given that Instagram has raked in 700 million users in the last two years alone, the popularity of this app is hardly debatable. So, have you started re-posting?
